Hey, I’m Daman Dhaliwal.

I’m a cloud engineer who —figuratively and literally—spends most of my day looking at clouds.

A Queens native and Baruch College (Zicklin School of Business) alum, I dove head first into tech wiring bots in the Robotics program at Thomas Edison CTE High School. While earning my bachelor’s, I taught STEM and robotics at Rocket Club, a prestigious after-school program in NYC.

I built Cloud of Thoughts for two reasons: to document my own work, and to pay it forward. Throughout my career, I’ve relied on countless blogs and community posts to help and stop me from possibly bashing my head into a wall. This is my contribution back to that community.

What you’ll find:

Guides: Deep dives and end-to-end guides for Azure infrastructure.

Engineer Handbook: Quick references and cheat sheets for when you’re in the trenches.

Admin Handbook: Shortcuts for M365, Google Workspace, and Email Security from my sysadmin days.

Outside of staring at a computer screen, I’m usually off-roading and exploring nature in my Jeep, laying down drums and chords on my Akai MPC, kicking it with my doggos, or experimenting in the kitchen. Lately, I’ve been getting into music theory. Learning keys and exploring chord progressions has been a welcome creative outlet.
